FIGURING OUT WHAT'S NEXT.
People are often asked to navigate change without being given the time or tools to think through what to do next.
This happens individually and inside organizations - during transitions, role changes, and increasingly as AI reshapes work.
Most support focuses on resumes, job search, training, or general guidance.
What’s often missing is helping people figure out what they are going to do next.
At Step 6 Consulting, we have a different approach.
We offer structured, small-group sessions designed to help people make decisions in tough times.
Participants bring real situations and work through them directly - clarifying options, tradeoffs, and next steps.
When useful, tools (including AI) are introduced to support the conversation, but they are not the focus.
The focus is on thinking clearly and making decisions.
FOR INDIVIDUALS
Sessions are available to individuals who are trying to figure out what to do next.
People typically come in with something specific they are working through - career direction, business decisions, role changes, or broader questions about what comes next.
The format is simple:
- Small groups (typically 5-6 people)
- Two 90-minute remote sessions (weekends)
- Participants bring real decisions they are facing
- Facilitated discussion focused on clarity and next steps
- A mix of backgrounds and perspectives.
The sessions are practical and discussion-based.
They are not courses or training - they are a space to think through real choices.
FOR ORGANIZATIONS
These same sessions can be offered within organizations.
They are particularly useful in situations where people are being asked to navigate change, such as:
- Layoffs and outplacement support
- Organizational restructuring or role changes
- Teams adapting to the impact of AI
- Employees facing shifts in responsibilities or direction.
These sessions complement traditional support (training, outplacement, development) by focusing on something more fundamental - helping people decide what to do next.
The format can be adapted for:
- Small groups
- Internal cohorts
- Leadership teams.
The emphasis remains the same—practical thinking, real situations, and clear next steps.
